san antonio mission wedding inspiration
This Old World wedding inspo got featured on Wedding Sparrow and I’m thrilled to see it was an international team effort. With part of our team from the Rocky Mountains Calgary area (hi Kristyn and Blush and Raven!), the other half of the team were from Texas. The stunning background was set in Mission San Jose in San Antonio and it did not disappoint with the ornate carvings and architecture.
I kept to using all calligraphy for the invitation suite and the menu, to create that Old World feel. To add interest, a charcoal sketch of Mission was incorporated, along with a master painting to serve as an envelope liner. The end result was a clean fresh look with touches of art as a nod to the church’s past.
Some thoughts from the planner:
From Kali of Kindle and Gather: "Mission San Jose is the largest of the San Antonio Missions and is restored almost entirely to it’s original design. When walking through this historic space, you feel as those you’ve stepped back into the 1700s. When designing this shoot, I wanted to highlight the ornate architecture by keeping the rest of the design clean and minimal. The cool tones used in the palette were intended to bring a freshness to a place that holds so much history. From the florals to the gown to the invitation suite, each component was intentionally curated to create a setting that felt life-giving and inspiring.
