Jennifer + Marc's Calgary Wedding
Jennifer and Marc's wedding was during the summer and their theme focused on greenery and nature. Their wedding colors were predominately neutral colors like sage green, blush, white and light brown. Their wedding, Meadow Muse Pavillion, was held at the rustic Fish Creek Park and I went out to sketch the actual pine trees lined against the pathway with the romantic gas lamps. The theme was seen throughout on their save the date, invitation and RSVP cards. They opted for additional services including envelope calligraphy, thank you cards, menu, table numbers, escort place cards, wooden hangers and glass signage.
It was truly an unique look with so many handcrafted embellishments! The word "menu" was handwritten in walnut ink with random leaves painted a gold shimmery color. Each escort place card was given a wash of green, light pink and light beige color with gold spatter specks before inked with walnut ink. Every guests had a choice of beef, chicken or vegetarian meal. Most weddings use a colored sticker code so servers know what the guest is eating. I thought sketching a little icon would not only be functional, but cute! The table numbers were hand painted and each different from another. For the gas lamp table numbers, the flames were given a wash of gold shimmery ink to match the outdoor gas lamps.
