Quaker Marriage Certificate

Serena and Michael wanted to have a custom wedding art work where the guests could sign their names underneath the couples' wedding vows. Their wedding vows were combined and pared down to fit into four sentences because they were expecting that many guests signatures. I lightly penciled the lines for the hundred guests to sign, and Serena and Michael can easily erase the pencil lines afterwards. Serena and Michael liked the Kebutah wedding idea, so trees are a common image in Quaker marriage certificates. Two individual trees, representing each of them, were painted on either sides before intertwining at the top to signify their union.  Throughout the trees, I painted random leaves with a touch of gold shimmery paint for an extra elegant look.

Final size of the art work is approximately 30"x22" with hand torn deckle edges.
